When I was 15 my parents told me that I needed to get a job. I applied at McDonalds Food & Family Store. Took me 3 months to get an interview with them. For a grocery store its actually pretty hard getting in. When I went for my interview an was in there for two hours. I had to go around the store and ask questions to the customers like: Why do you shop here? How long have you shopped here? Where do you live?. I nailed the interview and a week later I started something new. I started out as a carry out and worked around 35-40 hours, it was summer and all I did was work. After about a month they decided to train me as a cashier. After my summer was over my mom told me that I didn't really need to get a job in the first place. I thought "well I already have it I should just stay". School they had me working 15-20 hours and going to school was difficult.
Many people tell me that I spell my name wrong. They say that my parents must have been drunk when they were spelling my name. Or they laugh at the fact that I was named after a carburetor. Another thing I get asked a lot is if my middle name is Noel, because they think that I was born near Christmas. I just don't understand why no one likes my name just because it has an "E" in it.! But its okay cause I like my name. I like being unique, so far I haven't met anyone with the same spelling as me.
It was only a few months into it when I had to take a quiz. The quiz was when I had to know where everything was around the store including what aisle and what the general location where it was at. I got like 5 wrong out of 30 items. The lady that hired me in said if I could've gotten one more wrong she would've fired me cause I didn't know my job well enough. I was kind of furious at her for that. I thought I did a pretty good job for only facing for about 20 hours. Facing is where you have to go around the store and pull everything forward so it makes the aisle look professional.
